Garang's funeral on August 6th

The spokesman for the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM), Baqoun Amoum, said that the procedures to Vice-President John Garang's funeral will be held in Jouba which he had chosen to be the capital of southern Sudan, noting that Garang will be buried on Saturday, August 6th.

He explained that the funeral of Garang, currently in NewSite area, will roam several cities in southern Sudan before it will arrive in Jouba, tts last destination.

He added that the SPLM will extend invitations to friends in the area and the world to take part in Garang's funeral. The movement announced a five day mourning in southern Sudan as from Tuesday. Garang, the leader of the SPLM was recently appointed as the country's vice-preisdent after a peace agreement with the government was reached.
