al-Baath: Syrian-Moroccan relations are distinguished, Morocco's ambassador says

Originally published

Morocco's Ambassador in Damascus Abdul Wahab al-Blouqi has described the Syrian-Moroccan relations as distinguished.

In a statement to al-Baath daily on Sunday, Blouqi said " The volume of the trade exchange between the two countries reached to $ 40 million last year, but it didn't reflect the available potentials in the two countries."

He added that the main problem facing the economic and trade cooperation is the absence of a maritime line between the two countries, in addition to the high costs of the air shipment.

He added that the Trade Committee of the two states is scheduled to meet soon to discuss means of enhancing the trade relations.

He stressed that Morocco imports from Syria cotton thread, textile, handcrafts products, while Syria imports canned fish, natural seeds and chemical stuff.

He expressed satisfaction over the economic and technical cooperation between the two states, describing the Syrian-Moroccan relations as "honest and constructive."
