Spain blocks al-Manar broadcast in Latin America
The Spanish ministry of industry announced on Wednesday it ordered a Satellite company to halt broadcasting of Hizbullah's al-Manar TV station to Latin America.
The Spanish government notified "HISBaSat" for Satellite, a state-owned company, to cancel a contract signed in 2004 with "Globe Cassette" which is owned by "France Telecom" for the station's transmission to Latin America. A spokesman for the ministry said that the contract does not include broadcasting within Spain. France, several months ago, took a similar measure against al-Manar.
