Syrian athletes reject certificates carrying Israeli flag

Syrian athletes participating in the international kick-boxing competition which was held Monday in Mersin, South Turkey, rejected to receive Turkish certificates because they carried the Israeli flag.

In a statement to the press Tuesday, Head of the Syrian team said "the team refused those certificates since they carry the Israeli flag," pointing out that the Syrian sportsmen were handed new certificates that carried the Syrian and the Turkish flags only. The competition was held by 'Turkish Stars Club' on the 11th anniversary of its establishment.
