Israel warns its citizens from armed attacks in Egypt

Originally published

Once again Israel has warned its citizens from traveling to Egypt especially the Sinai peninsula, of fears to be exposed to armed attacks, just one day before the fall of Jewish feast celebrations.

Tel Aviv said on Thursday that what it called the terrorist threats "against Israeli tourists in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula has been increased recently." It warned its citizens to stay away from resorts overlooking the Red Sea.

34 persons including 12 Israelis were killed in explosions in October 2004 in a hotel in Taba on the Egyptian-Israeli borders and two coastal camps to the south of Taba.

Thousands of Israelis came to the area at that time ignoring a previous warning from traveling to Sinai and Egypt in general.

It is, however, decided to start the trial of three Egyptians accused in these explosions on July 2nd. N.
