Syria eager to maintain ties with EU, mainly with france

Syria underlined on Thursday keenness on boosting ties with the European Union and expressed willingness to have the best relations with France, Syria's Foreign Minister said.

At a lunch banquet held by the Dutch Ambassador in Damascus, in attendance with the EU ambassadors to Syria, Minister Farouq al-Sharaa said "Syria is eager to strengthen ties with all the European countries because of the neighborhood and the common history between the two banks of the Mediterranean." Sharaa meantime, said that "Syria is willing to establish the best of ties with the European countries mainly with France, despite what has damaged these ties in the recent time."
