Originally published

Two Algerian civilians were killed in a bomb explosion implanted by gunmen in the eastern part of the country.

The Algerian Liberty paper said on Sunday that the bomb was implanted by Islamists extremists in Beer al-Ater state, 630 Km from the capital Algiers. No side claimed responsibility for the operation.

For its part, the government forces started to search the mountainous area in an attempt to exterminate the gunmen in coincidence with a clear escalation of gunmen attacks.

More than 50 persons, most of them were soldiers and the security forces, were killed recently. The authorities blamed "al-Salafeyah group for call and fighting group", the largest armed organization in the country, responsible for the attacks.

The Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika has repeatedly urged the Algerians to support the pan amnesty plan saying that the wave of violence which started in 1992 resulted in killing 200,000 persons.

Worthy mentioning that the acts of violence has decreased in recent years paving the way for the return back of foreign investments the country drastically needs.
