Originally published

Consultations resumed between the representatives of "the Kurdistani coalition" list and the "United Iraqi coalition" list at a faster pace after the National Assembly ( parliament) held its first session to discuss the issue of forming the government.

However, representatives from both sides stressed they are in need for two weeks as from now in order to reach satisfactory results for the two sides. Chairman of al-Dawa ( call) party who is designated as a premier for the new cabinet Ibrahim al-Jaafari said the two next weeks will witness the birth of a new government.

The second ranking official in the Shiite al-Dawa party, Jawad al-Malki, said the two sides will work to put the final touches on a written request demanded by the Kurds who will occupy 77 seats of the parliament on the program of the government.

He said they will discuss the distributions of posts of the presidential council which is composed of a president for the country, two vice presidents and the presidency of the parliament.
