Algeria Arab summit to be attended by large number of leaders, says Algerian ambassador
The upcoming Arab summit in Algeria will bring together a large number of Arab leaders, said the Algerian ambassador to Egypt.
Speaking to MENA, Abdelkadir Hajar said that his country has taken all necessary measures to render the summit a success.
"Arab League chief Amr Moussa is scheduled to visit Algeria Tuesday to help set the stage for the two-day summit," which due to open on March 23, Hajar said.
He said the Brazilian president has been invited to the summit, noting that Brazil will play host to the first Arab-Latin American summit in May.
The Spanish premier, the UN chief, and the chief of the Arab Labor Organization have also been invited to the event.
Hajar said that the Arab leaders are expected to ratify freed-upon draft resolutions.
"An amendment to the league's voting system is high on the agenda," he said.
He added that the summit would also set up a follow-up committee to make sure that the resolutions have been put into effect.
