Syria's withdrawal and al-Hayat Daily
Al-Hayat daily described Wednesday Syria's decision of withdrawing from Lebanon as wise and put things into their right track.
The daily underlined that withdrawal of the Syrian troops from Lebanon to the Bekaa or even to the Syrian-Lebanese borders will weaken the international pressure led by the United States in favor of Israel.
"Among all local, regional and international pressures which aim at imposing settlement in line with Israel's interests ... the Lebanese national forces have no choice but rearrange their ranks and gather around one principle which is protecting the resistance which made possible Lebanon's victory in liberating the Lebanese South," al-Hayat said.
Al-Hayat stressed that what the United States wants is totally different from what it is really capable of. "Syria is not Iraq and Lebanon is not the same since 1983" it added.
"Lebanese people will figure out a formula, particularly after Syria's withdrawal, to administrate an active and strong relation between Syria and Lebanon in accordance with both countries' security and stability," al-Hayat said.
The paper pointed out that the Lebanese people can bravely drop the UN 1559 resolution which carries fire of sectarian unrest, stressing that the UN Security Council can not impose a form of relation between two neighbouring states.
