The largest demonstration in support of Syria
The Lebanese demonstration on Tuesday afternoon in support of Syria took the main streets of Lebanon on Tuesday and was called for by the Lebanese Hizbullah party under the motto "faithfulness to Syria and rejection of foreign intervention."
It started with the call to observe a one minute silence in memory of the late Lebanese former prime minister Rafic Hariri who was assassinated in the downtown of Beirut on February 14 and then followed by the Lebanese national anthem.
The demonstrators raised banners rejecting UN Security Council resolution 1559 and the American and French pressures on Syria. Other banners voiced support for the Lebanese resistance together with pictures of the Syrian and Lebanese presidents and the Lebanese flag.
