Syria- Jordan border agreement finalized

Syria's Minister of Interior said on Tuesday the Syrian-Jordanian border demarcation accord stipulated implementation of international border accords in a "pinpointed and clear way .. It comes to fulfill the two countries interests and prevent any complications especially that it includes facilitating investment of the two countries natives in common border regions," Lieutenant General Ghazi Kanaan told SANA.

Syria and Jordan inked on Monday a bulk of accords among which was two accords of joint cooperation between the two ministries of interior.

He noted that joint technical committees were formulated as to implement and follow up what was agreed upon. These committees are to start work in 15 days time, he noted.

The second accord has provided for cooperation in the field of fighting terror and organized crime, drugs in addition to criminal security action.

" The two agreements are to meet the two political leaderships desire to build basis of fraternal cooperation and its sustainable development," Kanaan said.
