Journalist kidnapped; release of hostages in Iraq
Gunmen in Iraq kidnapped one journalist working in the Iraqi TV channel with her son in the downtown of this city which is situated to the north of Iraq.
Meantime, the file of foreign hostages witnessed a remarkable development on Monday after the Indonesian foreign ministry confirmed the release of its journalist Mutei'a Hafeez and Yu Deyantu who were kidnapped in Iraq last Tuesday.
A source in the Muslim Scholars Commission stressed that the two released Indonesians were released in al-Ramadi and will be transported to the headquarters of the commission in Baghdad where they will choose between heading to their country's embassy or leaving Iraq.
A video tape showed the release operation of the hostages. An anonymous Islamic group calling itself al-Mujahideen army claimed responsibility for the kidnapping operation.
