Differences in Fatah postpones the ratification of the legislative council on Qurei's government
The Palestinian Legislative Council on Monday postponed voting confidence for the new Palestinian government chaired by Ahmad Qurei until today ( Tuesday) in order to make more consultations inside the Palestinian national liberation movement ( Fatah) because of differences between members of Fatah bloc in the council against the formation of the government.
The presidency secretary general and member of the legislative council al-Tayeb Abdul Rahim described the situation as difficult, noting that the Fatah bloc was due to have met on Monday evening to decide whether amendments will be introduced or abide by voting to this formation.
News reports in the Palestinian territories said that the former Palestinian minister of internal security Muhammad Dahlan will take part in the new government in which he was appointed the post of the minister for Cabinet affairs.
The new government also includes Nasser al-Qidwa as a foreign minister instead of Nabil Shaath who will be appointed as a deputy prime minister. The ministry of the interior will be for lt. gen. Naser Youssef, the ministry of social affairs and labor for Dalal Salamah, Rafiq al-Nitshe instead of Ghassan al-Khatibn who will assume the post of the minister of planning and the minister of information Nabil Amre.
