Tunisian president highlights need to enhance cooperation with Morocco
Tunisian president, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, has called for the development of the Moroccan-Tunisian cooperation, said official sources.
In a meeting with his Prime Minister, Mohamed Ghannouchi, about the improvement of the Tunisian administration's performance, Ben Ali expressed interest in the Moroccan-Tunisian relations, on the eve of the 12th session of the High Joint Commission to convene Friday in Tunis.
The Tunisian president "emphasized the need to take advantage of all available means in order to enhance the bilateral cooperation in all fields with a view to raising cooperation to the level of the privileged relations between the two countries," pointed out the same source.
The Moroccan-Tunisian High Joint Commission will look into means to give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation.
Moroccan Prime Minister, Driss Jettou, arrived Thursday in Tunis to take part in the works of the Commission, which he will co-chair with his Tunisian peer.
In a statement to the press upon arrival to Tunis-Carthage airport, Jettou hoped this 12th session would contribute to the reinforcement of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in partnership, investment and trade exchanges.
On his part, the Tunisian Premier deplored that bilateral cooperation is still below the aspirations and potentials of the two countries.
The Commission, he said, will examine means to overcome the obstacles hampering the development of two-way trade and investments flow.
