Means to develop economic exchanges between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates were the focus of discussions, held here Thursday, between officers of the Moroccan federation of small and medium enterprises and members of a delegation of the Dubai-based forum of "Young Arab leaders" (YAL).

At the working meeting, attended by United Arab Emirates ambassador to Morocco, Aissa Hamad Abou Chihab, chirman of the Moroccan federation, Hamad Kessal highlighted the need of Arab economic integration in this era of globalisation to better face competition and economic challenges.

He said the integration was feasible owing to the complementarity and diversity of Arab products and potentials, calling on the private sector to work for making the integration possible.

Kessal said Morocco has set up legal and other investment incentives and entered several free trade agreements, stressing the geographical location of the country could help national and UAE companies have access to big markets.

YAL chairman, Mohamed Al-Gergawi told the Moroccan News agency MAP the visit of the forum delegation is meant to have talks with the Moroccan party, particularly the private sector, to contemplate means to install a YAL branch in the Kingdom, as is the case with several other Arab countries. Al-Gergawi said the visit goal also include the possibility of increasing trade exchange volume between Morocco and The United Arab Emirates.

YAL comprises top performers from every sector across the region. The organisation has picked up speed and activated its strategic action plan following a meeting of its Executive Committee in Cairo, Egypt. The Executive Committee works to continue its drive to boost its membership numbers to 500 under-43 year olds drawn from across Arab society. The organisation aims to identify and recruit the top performers in every sector from every Arab country. The institution strives to be a vehicle to involve young Arab role models in initiatives focused on Arab youth development. The organisation also aims to re-instill pride in an Arab identity and to provide young leaders across all sectors, with the opportunity to network and cooperate in action-oriented task forces across Arab borders.
