Another booby trapped car in the Green Zone

A booby trapped car went off yesterday in the Green Zone. No news so far reported on casualties.

The first booby trapped car went off yesterday targeting the headquarters of the national reconciliation party led by the prime minister Eyad Allawi and this resulted in killing 7 Iraqis and wounding other 22.

Allawi was not at the site of the explosion which was carried out by one suicid attack at a checkpoint on a road leading to the headquarters of the party in al-Zeitoun street. Four American tanks and large number of military cars blocked all openings leading to the site of the explosion while two helicopters were flying over the place.

News reports said that three Iraqis were killed and other four injured in a bomb explosion that targeted a American military procession on the highway to the west of Baghdad and this resulted in burning one sedan car while other three were damaged. In al-Ghazalleyah to the west of Baghdad, the headquarters of the National Guard was attacked by mortar shelling.

In al-Azameyah, one explosive went off targeting one American procession running in the area and this resulted in destroying one house and a sedan car.

In another development, a source at the ministry of the interior stressed the killing of one intelligence officer in the former Iraqi regime at the hands of unidentified gunmen in al-Amel quarters to the west of Baghdad.
