Originally published

Regarding the continued deteriorated security conditions ion Iraq, the Interim Iraqi prime minister Eyad Allawi asked the neighboring states to prevent the sneaking of gunmen.

He warned that his government's patient has reached its end. He stressed that he is still waiting the answer of the neighboring states for his repeated demands to this effect.

Allawi has not mentioned one state by name but sent a message in this regard to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in which he asked for handing over several supporters for the toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein who stay in Syria and are involved in activities violating security in Iraq.

Allawi said in his message that his government has got evidence proving the involvement of former Iraqi officials who live in Damascus in what he described as terrorist acts.

However, the escalation of attacks in Iraq pushed the American forces and the Interim Iraqi government to announce intensifying operations against gunmen and deployment of some 100,000 men to ensure security through legislative elections set by the end of January.
