Berri and Erdogan's talks on regional developments

Originally published

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri reiterated support to Iraq's territorial integrity and coordination among Syria, Lebanon and Turkey to back Iraq, warning against the repercussions of the state of chaos on Iraq's neighboring countries.

Lebanese National News Agency quoted Berri as saying in Ankara overnight following his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Israel rejects all Arab and international initiatives to realize a just and comprehensive peace in the region and to recognize the Palestinian people legitimate rights.

For his part, Erdogan stressed the importance of activating the Syrian and Lebanese tracks in the peace process in addition to the Palestinian track.

He also underlined necessity of establishing four-way relations among Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq and to develop those relations on the trade and economic levels.

Earlier, in a meeting with Arab ambassadors to Turkey, Berri stressed importance of activating the Syrian-Lebanese track to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Berri also discussed with his Turkish counterpart Bulent Arinc bilateral relations and the situation in the region.
