Islamic scholar for Philippine

Minister of Awkaf Mahmaud Hamdy Zaqzouq approved sending an Islamic collection of books in Arabic and English to the Philippine Muslims.

He also greed on providing five new -scholarships to Philippine students studying at Al-Azhar at the expense of the Supreme Council for Islamic affairs.

During a meeting yesterday with the deputy governor of the self-rule area in south Philippines, the minister expressed Egypt's keenness on meeting needs of Muslims allover the world to get acquainted with the true teachings of Islam.

The Philippine guest, who is the minister of education, hailed Egypt's efforts to help Philippines' Muslims.
