Al-Rai: Israel does not want peace

Jordanian newspaper al-Rai stressed that the Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Syrian Golan is the base for the achievement of peace on the Syrian-Israeli track.

In a political analysis Tuesday, the paper said that Israel's rejection to resume peace negotiations on the Syrian track disclosed Tel Aviv government's allegations and hostile stances.

" If Israel wanted peace it would accept the Arab peace initiative for the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace in the region ... But Israel aims at expansion and imposing hegemony on the region," it added.
