Khedr, Abul Naga to travel to Ethiopia, Mauritania for beef import
Egypt's Minister of Supply and Horne Trade Hassan Khedr said yesterday that the government will sign a number of agreements on importing beef from Ethiopia and Mauritania, in addition to the imported Sudanese beef, in order to meet local market needs.
He added that he and Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Abul Naga will travel within days to Ethiopia and Mauritania for this purpose.
Meanwhile, the Minister is committed to supplying all the governorates with 23.5 million gas cylinders, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Petroleum.
"The Ministry of Supply and Home Trade has agreed with the Ministry of Administrative Development and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to create a database of all ration card holders," he added.
Khedr has suggested that the el-Qaliubiya governorate experience of producing loaves of bread at a cost of pt.10 to the consumer, supplementing the subsidized pt 5 loaves, should be taken as a model for the other governorates.
