Draft law on political parties referred to current session of parliament, Minister
The draft law on political parties will be referred to the two chambers of the parliament in the current legislative year, said Wednesday interior minister, Al Mostafa Sahel.
The minister told the weekly question-time session at the House of Representatives (lower parliamentary chamber) that several meetings were held with political parties that asked for additional time to examine the draft and make written answers.
The draft law was spelled out by King Mohammed VI last October at the opening of the parliament fall session.
Sahel explained that the coming stage consists in conducting a deep study of the parties' proposals and to include some of these remarks in the bill.
The draft law seeks to improve the management of political parties and set in place foundations for the parties' action in the respect of the democratic and modernist project pursued by Morocco, he added.
