Arab Telecommunications Company-General Assembly
The General Assembly of the Arab Telecommunications Company discussed in its second meeting co-chaired by Syrian Minister of Communication Mohammad Bashir al-Munajjed and his Iraqi counterpart Mohammad Ali al-Hakim in Damascus several topics on setting up the company and preparing a news feasibility study as well as the outcome of the latest meeting by its Board of Directors.
Both sides decided to set up a team work to further study the needs of Syrian, Iraqi and neighboring markets in terms of services and equipment which could be produced by the proposed company with the assistance of foreign expertise. They also agreed that incorporation of other partners is an open option if necessary.
The new study is agreed to be ready within 75 days, followed by a meeting of the company's General Assembly.
The two Ministers welcomed the joining or partnership of other Arab states like Jordan and Lebanon, and set 2005 for launching this company.
