The US forces are launching street wars in several areas in Iraq, while Falluja fighters are strongly challenging the continued military operations of the American forces.
Violent air and artillery bombardment continued on Falluja despite the assertions made by the American army of complete control on the city and what are left being mere pockets that are being liquidated and cleaned up.
In the 9th day of the pan attack against the city, the American military forces announced the killing of 1600 gunmen of defenders of the city and that cleansing operations are underway targeting remaining fighters. News rumored on the sneaking of gunmen into inside Falluja across the Euphrates river or old roads despite the tightened American siege on the city, while the Marines continue their bombardment and breaking into houses and mosques in search of armed gunmen.
Witnesses described the humanitarian conditions in Falluja as very bad while hundreds of bodies are scattered in the streets of the city which lack basic services, while the UN higher commission announced its concern over the situations of civilians.
In a telephone call with al-Jazeera TV yesterday, Ahmad Ghanem from the (stand by) hospital in Falluja said that the American forces are still controlling the main hospital while the (stand by) hospital and other health centers are being bombarded.
