A spokeswoman for the British embassy in Baghdad announced yesterday that there is a video tape showing the execution of the woman working in the humanitarian field, the British- Irish Margaret Hassan who was kidnapped on October 19.

The spokeswoman Victoria Witford said that "there is a video tape showing the execution of Margaret, but we are not sure of that." Margaret's husband said that his wife might be killed at the hands of her kidnappers, according to a video tape that appeared recently. The husband, Tahsin Hassab, said that he was notified of a video tape for Margaret showing her killing. He said "The tape might be true. I do not know." In London the family of Margaret expected in a statement that she was killed.

Al-Jazeera TV said it has received a video tape that shows opening fire at a woman said to be Margaret Hassan. Earlier, she made an appeal to the British prime minister Tony Blair in a tape broadcast by al-Jazeera for the withdrawal of the British forces from Iraq.
