Moroccan-Mauritanian fisheries coordination in international market focus of joint commission
The Moroccan-Mauritanian joint commission on fisheries held a meeting, in Nouakchott Sunday, to discuss the coordination of the two countries' action in sea products marketing to face international challenges.
The fourth session of the commission reviewed the mechanisms agreed upon in its previous meetings aiming at meeting international market requirements and setting up permanent coordination to help the two countries face international competition.
The session also considered means to modernise fisheries fleets, facilities and production means, and upgrade working tools to promote productivity.
The Moroccan-Mauritanian joint commission on fisheries is one of the main instruments of cooperation in fisheries between Morocco and Mauritania.
Under the commission's provisions, Morocco sends instructors to the Mauritanian fisheries school, grants aids to Mauritanian students and trainees and sponsors visits to the ports of the two countries.
