Iraq applies for joining WTO

Iraq has applied to join the World Trade Organization, eight month after it had received the status of observer. A spokesman for the UN headquarters in Geneva said that Baghdad's request was made in a message from the Iraqi minister of commerce Muhammad al-Jabbouri to the director general of the World Trade Organization WTO.
