Syrian army official: Israel is the reason behind differences with US

Under the patronage of the General Commander of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces, President Bashar al-Assad, a new batch of the Military Air College students was graduated on Wednesday.

Military Chief of Staff Liu. Gen. Ali Habeeb, who represented President al-Assad at the graduation ceremony, delivered a speech in which he said that Syria desired to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that ensures stability and security to the peoples of the Region.

"Israel is the side which threatens the international peace and security.. in any disagreement between us and the U.S. administration, you will find that the real factor behind this difference is Israel," Chief of Staff said.

He added that President Bashar al-Assad repeatedly stressed the necessity of the language of dialogue, instead of the language of threats.

On the latest developments in the region, Liu. Gen. Ali Habeeb said the latest events have taken new and dangerous dimensions on the background of the occupation of Iraq which was triggered by Israeli officials who, until now, occupy parts of the Arab land and perpetrate the brutal massacres against the unarmed Palestinians.

Present at the graduation ceremony were Chief of Staff of the Palestinian Liberation Army Liu. Gen. Muhammad Tarek al-Khadra, a number of the Baath Party's officials, military officers and directors of military schools and colleges.
