Egypt, China sign agreement on education cooperation
Egyptian and Chinese officials yesterday signed a new protocol on education cooperation.
Under the protocol, a school will be set up in each country to teach the language of the other, using communication technology, multimedia and advanced education programs.
It will also form joint committees comprising language and technology experts.
"Chinese will be taught in Egyptian preparatory and secondary schools as a second language," Education Minister Ahmed Gamal Eddin said after the signing ceremony.
On the other hand, Arabic teachers would be sent to China to teach Arabic there, Gamal Eddin added.
