Syria deplores Lebanese parliamentarian assassination attempt, Khaddam visits

A Syrian official information source on Friday condemned the attempt of assassination against member of the Lebanese Parliament Marwan Hamada near his home in the district of Ein Mreisa, Beirut.

The source stressed that this attempt comes at a time that has its own implications and reflections, pointing out that it is clear that enemies of Lebanon aim to incite sedition and destabilize the country.

Meantime, under an authorization from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Vice President Abdul-Halim Khaddam visited Lebanese MP Marwan Hmadeh at the hospital wishing him quick recovery following an assassination attempt on his life earlier in the day in Beirut .
