Former resistors and membners of the lioberation army said in a release South Africa's recognition of the puppet Sahrawi Republic, proclaimed by the Polisario separatists, is "an act of ingratitude" towards Morocco.

The release voiced "deep dismay" at the "unfriendly" decision of Pretoria, which will only "affect the friendly relations our two people forged and reinforced during the fight for the independence and the ending of Apartheid."

This decision derogates from the principles of wisdom which marked the African policy of Nelson Mandela's government, which was harnessed to support the stability of African countries, to put an end to conflicts and wars, and to promote cooperation and cohabitation between their peoples, the statement goes.

The "family of resistance" affirmed that this "strange" decision will by no means affect Morocco's position, international legality or the moves made by the United Nations to achieve a settlement to the artificial crisis of the Moroccan Sahara.

South Africa's recognition of the alleged "SADR" is still in front page stories of Moroccan papers who urged Tuesday for the consolidation of the Moroccan diplomacy to "face stratagems of the enemies of Morocco's territorial integrity."
