The Egyptian delegation and peace efforts between the Palestinians, Israel

The "Israeli massacres" against the Palestinians came when as one Egyptian delegation was leaving Ramullah following a visit. The secretary of the Palestinian initiative Mustafa al-Barghouthi said that "the Israeli massacre is an evidence which confirms Israel's attempt to destroy any effort or steps to achieve peace."

The Palestinian President Yasser Arafat notified the Egyptian delegation to commit to the peace process and implement the Roadmap and international legitimacy resolutions.

In a press conference he held with the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit and the general intelligence director in Egypt Lt. gen. Omar Suleiman, Arafat called on the Quartet to work in its next meeting to carry out the Roadmap promptly.
