Washington lifts restrictions from its diplomats in Beirut
The US yesterday lifted an embargo it had imposed since two months on its diplomats in Beirut provided for banning them from heading to certain quarters in the southern part of the capital.
A statement by the US Department Of State in Washington said that the American embassy lifted on August 20 the restrictions it had imposed on the employees of the American embassy and banning them from moving and traveling to the coastal areas in Southern Beirut.
The statement gave no mention to reasons behind this new decision but it said that Washington is still " very worried of the danger of terrorist attacks against its citizens and the American interests abroad."
