Irrigation Minister: Egypt will not provide Israel with Nile water

Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Dr. Mahmoud Abu Zeid dismissed reports claiming that Egypt would provide Israel with Nile water via Sinai.

In statements published by Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anba'a of Sunday, the minister said that Nile water is not owned by Egypt and is governed by international agreements.

Egypt is in dire need of each drop of water, he said and ruled out the possibility of the eruption of war because of water in the region.
