Zaqzouq: Egypt supports moderate Islamic mind
Egypt's Minister of Awkaf (Endowments), Mahmoud Hamdy Zaqzouq said Egypt, the country that houses Al-Azhar for more than one thousand years, would be a hub for Moderate Islamic mind.
Egypt also maintains the values and teachings of Islam as well as the Arabic language, added Zaqzouq, noting that Egypt welcomes the sons of the Islamic world to be acquainted with Egyptian religious sites.
The minster's statements were read out by Shiekh Hussein Khedr, head of the religious sector in the Awkaf ministry during his meeting with a delegation of scholars from Bosnia and Herzegovina who participate in the course organized by Arabic language center in Cairo University.
On Egypt's soil, both Muslims and non-Muslims live through peace and fraternity, asserted Zaqzouq, noting that Islam is a religion of mercy that abandons fanaticism and extremism and has nothing to do with terrorism.
