On the Jordanian firms working in Iraq

Originally published

The General Manager of a Jordanian firm working in Iraq stressed that Israeli firms exploited their strong relations with American counterparts to win deals that facilitate the implementation of projects and export of goods to Iraqi markets via Jordanian and Turkish lands.

In a statement published Sunday in the Jordanian newspaper of al-Ghad (Future), the Manager said that about 70 Israeli firms work in Iraq and they deal with war equipment, electric devices, mobile houses and food.

He pointed out that the deals won by Israeli firms from American companies in Iraq totaled 2 million dollars.

On the other hand, the al-Ghad stressed necessity for organized political efforts to fend off Israeli nuclear danger, asserting importance of fielding a complaint with the International Court of Justice against Israeli violations of environment, thereby hurting Jordanian citizens.

In a political commentary published Sunday, the daily asserted that this issue is related to the Jordanian national security and the lives of more than 5 million people exposed to poisonous gases from Israeli firms and nuclear reactors.

It called for launching an international campaign and studies in many Jordanian areas to know the scale of Israeli nuclear reactor's danger in those areas, asserting necessity of facing those Israeli risks.
