Al-Sader calls for the resumption of truce
While clashes continued in Iraq, the Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sader called, in a statement by his spokesman, to resume the truce between the two sides as agreed in June.
Sheikh Mahmoud al-Sudani said that al-Sader office issued a statement saying it will abide by the truce if the American side abides by it.
Meantime, the Iraqi minister of the interior, Falah al-Naqib, said that the Interim Iraqi government will not make any negotiations with al-Sader, rather will fight his militias. He stressed that his government seeks to arrest every and each one threatening the security of the country, as he alleged.
However, Abdul Hadi al-Draji, the spokesman for martyr al-Sader office held al-Najaf governor Adnan al-Zarafi responsible for what had happened and accused him of collaborating with foreign forces. Al-Draji said that there is a hidden hand which seeks to eliminate al-Sader faction in Iraq.
