Syrian Vice-President confers with Barzani

Syria's Vice-President Abdul Halim Khaddam on Sunday received a delegation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party headed by Nijervan al-Barzani, member of the Party's Politburo.

Both sides reviewed the situation in Iraq, suffering of the Iraqi people, importance of enhancing the country's national unity and Syria's keenness on giving a hand to the people of Iraq to enable them restore sovereignty and independence and end the occupation. In statements after the meeting, al-Barzani described his talks with Khaddam as positive.
