Media silence overwhelms the mediation with al-Houthi
A state of media silence overwhelmed the negotiations currently taking place between the Yemeni mediation committee with Sheikh Hussein al-Houthi. Party leaders and officials in the mediation committee which is composed of 30 figures refused to give any information on the progress of the negotiations.
A senior official at the ruling People's Congress party told reporters in Sadaah that the committee approved not to make press statements until its mission is completed. He asked " not to embarasse members of the committee," stressing that the committee will announce details of its efforts for all.
A delegation composed of seven persons of the mediation committee composed by the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh headed to Haidan area to meet with the opposition figure Hussein Bader Eddine al-Houthi in the first political meeting with him since the eruption of armed clashes on June 19 between the government forces and his supporters hiding in Marran mountains in Sadaah to the north of Yemen.
