Amman's Islamic-Christian Discourse Conference concludes recommendations

Originally published

The participants in the already -concluded Islamic-Christian Discourse Conference held in the Jordanian capital of Amman recommended that elements of the discourse when addressing vital issues of the Arab Nation be united and cohesive.

The final document of the Conference, designed to reach common Islamic-Christian discourse to best understand each other, called for a more concerted and coherent coordination among Islamic and Christian institutions "to uncover Israel's occupation plots and terrorism against the Palestinians as well as its feverish attempt to wipe out the Islamic and Christian nature of the holy places in Palestine."

The participants also urged for a more active approach towards mutual understanding and openness between Moslems and Christians to help present the issues of the Arab nation in the language of today away from false self-satisfaction or self-center.

The document advised that contacts with other Islamic and Christian establishments worldwide be established to help fight extremism, and spread the noble values of moderation and tolerance as stated by the two heavenly religions.
