Libyans choose their candidates for the leaderships of people's conferences

A Libyan official source said that millions of Libyans started yesterday evening the process of choosing 10,000 official at the country level among more than 25,000 persons proposed to occupy leading positions in all Libyan areas.

In each and every people's conference, the voters will choose 23 members so as number of the members by the end of the operation at the country's level will reach 10,000, considered to be as composing the Libyan parliament. Results of the elections will be announced during the few coming days.

This operation is held every four years at two phases. In the first phase the files of candidates are submitted to a higher committee composed of members in the general people's congress and judges in charge of selecting these files and finding out its compatibility with the law, while in the second phase the process of choosing the needed number of candidates is made.
