King Mohammed VI of Morocco will pay a "working visit" to the United States starting Wednesday, announced, in Rabat Tuesday, a press release from the Royal Household, protocol and Chancellery.

During this visit, the monarch is expected to hold talks with US President George W. Bush.

The monarch had visited Washington in April 2002.

Relations between Morocco and the US are "exemplary" as King Mohammed VI put it in a congratulation message to President Bush on the occasion of July 4, marking the Independence Day.

He added that both countries and governments are "strongly committed to upholding the universal values of freedom, democracy, justice, tolerance, peace, global security, shared prosperity and harmonious cultural coexistence."

King Mohammed VI also voiced pride of the "special" ties between the two countries and of the "strategic partnership" that is "gaining in scope and depth as a result of the recent conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement."
