The Palestinian leader who was speaking at a press briefing insisted that his party is convinced of the need to find a settlement to this issue, that opposes Morocco to the Algeria-backed Polisario which wants to separate Morocco's southern provinces from the rest of Morocco, within the framework of Morocco's territorial integrity.

He added that his visit to Morocco is meant to hold dialogue with Moroccan officials, political parties and non-governmental organizations and to establish Arab solidarity over noble causes of the Arab nation, topped by the Palestinian issue.

He also called for promoting democratic reforms in the Arab states as a means to initiate social projects likely to uproot the causes of violence and terrorism in Arab and Islamic countries.

For Hawatmeh, Palestinian factions have to pool efforts in this sensitive period of the Palestinian issue, in order to reach solutions based on international legality and the roadmap. He also insisted that the Palestinian national authority has to start democratic reforms of its institutions in the perspective of the creation of a parliamentary, democratic and national union government.
