GCC, Morocco to create FTZ
Moroccan foreign affairs minister, Mohamed Benaissa, said the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has approved Morocco's request to create a Free Trade Zone between the two sides.
Benaissa told Kuwaiti newspaper "Al Kabas" Morocco's request was approved at the level of foreign ministers. He added that GCC's secretary general was invited to pay a visit to Morocco next June to discuss this issue.
Morocco is already bound by similar agreements to three Arab Mediterranean states (Tunisia, Jordan and Egypt), Turkey, the European Union as well as the USA.
Besides, the Moroccan foreign minister, who wrapped up Wednesday a visit to Kuwait where he chaired the 3rd session of the Moroccan-Kuwaiti high joint commission, described relations between his country and Kuwait as "excellent." He underscored that relations have been energized since the creation of the commission.
This 3rd session was marked by the signing of a program of bilateral cooperation in tourism, health, housing, telecommunications, fisheries, education and agriculture as well as in scientific and technical realms.
