Areiha: Brazilian parliamentarians visit Saadat in his prison
A delegation representing the Brazilian parliament yesterday concluded a visit of solidarity to the Palestinian self rule areas that lasted for four days in a visit to the secretary general of the People's Front For The Liberation of Palestine Ahmad Saadat who is jailed in Areiha.
The chairman of the delegation Jamil Murad said that the parliamentarians visited the tomb of the founder of the Hamas movement Sheikh Ahmad Yassin who was assassinated by Israel, as well as the tomb of Abdul Aziz al-Ranteisi who was also assassinated by Israel. The delegation also met with the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and leaders of al-Shaab party ( former communist party ) in Ramullah on Thursday. This is, however, the first visit to be carried out by foreign guests to Saadat since his detention in a Palestinian jail in Areiha in August 2002.
The delegation left Areiha heading for Jordan immediately after its visit to Saadat.
