Morocco and Bahrain are currently looking into means to foster economic relations and develop trade exchanges.

Faysal Al Reda Al-Moussaoui, speaker of the Bahraini consultative council (senate), evoked in Rabat Wednesday with Moroccan industry, trade and telecommunications minister, Rachid Talbi Alami, the obstacles hindering the promotion of exchanges, notably custom duties and transport. They proposed in this regard the conduction of a study on the possibility to create a joint company of merchant marine.

Talbi Alami voiced Morocco's resolve to learn from the Bahraini experience in stock market, banks and funds-managing given the Gulf country's experience in this realm. Besides, the minister called on Bahraini businessmen to invest in Morocco, highlighting the important potentials and human resources in the kingdom.

Similarly, the Bahraini speaker said his country wants to benefit from Morocco's experience in the integration in international economy, upgrading companies and negotiations. Bahrain is currently negotiating with the United States the setting up of a Free Trade Zone.

Reda Al Moussaoui hailed the economic reforms in Morocco, particularly after the signing of an association accord with the European Union and Free Trade Agreements with the United States and Turkey.
