Iranian defense minister visits Lebanon today, discusses with al- Assad cooperation between the two armies

The Iranian defense minister Ali Shamakhani visits Lebanon today after he had met in Damascus with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that dealt with " cooperation between the Syrian and Iranian armies."

The Syrian official news agency SANA said that al-Assad and Shamakhani discussed "current developments in each of Iraq and the occupied Palestinian territories and cooperation between the two friendly countries."

SANA added that the talks which were attended by the deputy premier and defense minister Lt. Gen. Mustafa Tlass also dealt with "regional issues and cooperation between the Syrian and Iranian armies."
