An official source in the Arab league announced yesterday that Iraq has funded its share in the budget of the Arab League for the first time since 15 years.

The source said that "Iraq funded a sum of 3.3 million dollars representing its full contribution in the budget of the Arab League including delayed payment since 1988."

The source added that the repayments were made during an Iraqi delegation attendance of the meetings of the permanent committee for financial and administrative affairs which started its works at the headquarters of the AL on Monday. The source continued that other countries repayed their contributions and the collected sums reached "some USD 10 million representing one third of the budget."
