Three Algerian security members and two Islamists killed
Three security men and two gunmen were killed on Monday and Tuesday in Algeria in acts of violence attributed to armed Islamic group in an attack by the Algerian army against Islamists.
A security source explained that two military men and one municipal guard were killed Tuesday morning by Islamists in Tiqizririt, near Teizi Ozo in Kbylie area ( 110 Km to the east of the capital). The source indicated that the attack took place in a mountainous area between Mazer and Tiqizririt, the coastal city where "al-Salafeyah group for call and fighting" is active, led by Hassan Hattab. It says it only attacks the security forces.
The same source added that the Algerian army killed on Monday evening two Islamists and confiscated Klashinkov machineguns in Mindas on Gleizan province ( 300 Km to the west of the capital) where the "armed Islamic group" is active.
These two groups reject what is known as the national reconciliation policy which is advocated by the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika since he assumed authority in 1999.
Acts of violence in Algeria witnessed a great recession during January as 16 persons were killed including 10 armed Islamists.
